There are some science fiction animations that are very nostalgic for me, sometimes I wonder how much animations like these from the late 1980s to early 2000s influenced me in some way. I think I lived through a good time for animation in this genre.

Sometimes I'm impressed by the creativity of game developers in the face of technical limitations, as in the case of Rescue: The Embassy Mission, a 1988 tactical shooter with stealth elements and almost 8-bit FPS gameplay.

I'm playing Carrion, it's an accessible and short metroidvania. For me it's been quite relaxing, after The Witness overheated my neurons.

Sometimes art has an impressive ability to create wonderful characters that transcend a grotesque aesthetic.

- "Boy Bitten by a Lizard" (1593–1594), Caravaggio
- "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" (1883), Victor Hugo
- "The Elephant Man" (1980), David Lynch
- "Inside" (2016), Arnt Jensen

David Lynch was one of the most brilliant filmmakers of surrealism and absurdism in cinema.

The history of cinema in the late 20th and early 21st centuries can never be told without mentioning David Lynch's legendary works, such as The Elephant Man, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks.

It's not confirmed that the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con can be used as a mouse, but I think Pikmin is a Nintendo franchise that could benefit from this, and it would be interesting to see a new IP that explores this potential.

Although it started in 2019, finally in 2025 the ninth generation of consoles will have a complete team in the video game market.

Today is World Logic Day (January 14 is the date of the death of Kurt Gödel and the date of birth of Alfred Tarski, the two greatest logicians of the 20th century, and who are great inspirations in my academic studies).

To celebrate this day, I'll give you some book, film and game recommendations:

2022 has been the best year I've seen for adventure-RPGs yet, with brilliantly well-written releases in the genre, notably Pentiment, Roadwarden and Citizen Sleeper.

2023 and 2024 seem to have been weaker years for the genre, but 2025 gives me hope with Citizen Sleeper 2 coming soon.

I know many are expecting a new Mario in the early days of the Switch 2, but personally I think the game that would most likely make me buy a Switch 2 on day one would be Dragon Quest XII (although I think it's unlikely to be released before 2026).

These were possibly the video games I played the most in my adolescence. These games weren't necessarily my favorites, but they were certainly the ones that made me want to play them over and over again.

One mangaka whose work I've really enjoyed is Moto Hagio, a pioneer of shoujo and shounen-ai manga in the 1970s. Over time, she began to subvert her own conventions into realistic, poetic, and often traumatic josei works that are almost unparalleled in the manga industry, such as A Cruel God Reigns.
