We are Head and Deputy at Lingfield Primary School, Surrey, with a passion for school improvement. We have worked together for over 13 years and care deeply about authentic school culture; doing less better and eating cake!
Hey @mrzachg.bsky.social

Here's what 1 of our teachers, said in his recent review of your book for a network of schools we are working with.
Also referenced is the must have Rosenshine's Principles in Action from @teacherhead.bsky.social
Thanks for sharing, Elliot!

Happy Halloween 🎃 👻
Over the past couple of weeks, my 5 year old & I have enjoyed our collection of Halloween books.

Each year we add to the collection and this year’s gems 💎 were from @flaviazdrago.bsky.social and Rebecca Green. Such beautiful stories and illustrations.

School improvement isn’t always about big, shiny new initiatives. It’s often about the smaller steps—the quiet, deliberate tweaks that build momentum over time.
In this evening’s staff meeting, we began by revisiting our Culture Deck—a shared foundation that guides how we work together.

Really impressed by the first independent writes from our Year 6s, inspired by Paperman @janeconsidineedu.bsky.social
The children were really engaged, using techniques like repetition for effect & exploring vocabulary.
Since starting The Write Stuff, their love for writing—and stamina—has soared!

📚 Just Read Mondays 📚
Every Monday, our whole-school assembly is a Just Read moment — sharing a beautiful picture book that connects to our learning concepts, key events, or our Personal Best values. This week's book was Once Upon an Atom by James Carr & William Santiago.

✨ This morning we welcomed families of potential Reception children for 2026 — such a joy to meet new faces and share what makes our school special.

👣 Our tours begin with our leadership team setting the scene, then we hand over to our brilliant Year 6 house captains.

A vanilla latte & the Impact journal @collegeofteaching.bsky.social keeping me company while I wait for my daughter's dance class. An uninterrupted hour of strategic thinking & thought-provoking articles on a Saturday morning because strategic thinking doesn’t always fit into the working week.

Thanks to
@katejonesteach.bsky.social
for a great day on everything retrieval practice & feedback.
Elliot & Alex came back buzzing, excited about what they had learnt and how well it links with the best practice they are already developing in their own classes and through their leadership roles.

From Nursery to Year 6, it's all words, words, words! 📚🗣️
We love the
