the outfit is meant to imitate flying asparas from the mogao caves in Dunhuang, China. there's so much history but basically the silk road and the travel of buddhism from india to china, made the caves a stopping point between those two nations

the one detail i really enjoy about warframe is that it lets your pet hang around with you on your orbiter. plus the idle animations so it might just curl up and nap anywhere.

Specifically the silk road and many Central Asian cultures along with Indian cultures coming to trade with Tang Dynasty China and vice versa is a bit different than the west reimagining of the "orient" and fetishism of it. These cultures did meet each other.

Not the same thing at all if you read the Wikipedia page you screenshotted. And those costumes were specifically to emulate Buddhist frescoes of flying asparas. It was a cultural exchange essentially on the silk road and the frescoes were in the Mogao caves which was a Buddhist center of worship.

Part of it was the jet age too but the original building became so costly to maintain due to the loss of train passengers. But what a monumental loss to a beautiful building and history.

LRP I actually was reading about this but the OG penn station in NYC was actually gorgeous. Beaux Arts architectural style. They demolished it for the ugly ass monstrosity today but part of it was due to loss of railway passengers because of the building of highways post WW2
