The books that I never hear people talk about that surprise me though, is the Pern books by Anne McCaffrey.

I read snow crash for a college geography course, actually, when I was 19 - the teacher was using it as a way to identify how the geography changes depicted impacted the whole of society. I think he just wanted us to read a cool book, but regardless, it's now one of my favorite books ever

I read a ton of the Dirk Pitt novels when I was younger - still like to revisit them. Clive can tell a good story

I think so, at least in terms of some of the bigger questions. Some individual stuff is going to be different for everyone, but communication and staying in touch with like-minded folks is very important
