I need to make some sort of Ulysses Pact with someone about all things DIY. Specifically, the next time I buy a fixer upper proudly proclaiming that I can do most things myself, I need someone to step in and tie me to a mast until the Siren Song of B&Q can longer be heard.

I just saw the CFP for next year’s Privacy Law Scholar’s Conference on LinkedIn, which stated that they introduced a ton of new things.
I love that conference, but all I want for Christmas is for them to move it to Canada. Not travelling to the US until all of this is over.

New from me: Who are the lawyers getting caught filing AI-tainted briefs in court? I analyzed 114 U.S. cases from the invaluable AI Hallucination Cases database maintained by Damien Charlotin. I find that: * A whopping 90% of the firms in the sample are solo attorneys or small firms (up to 25 lawyers). * The party submitting the AI-tainted filings is usually the plaintiff (~56% of cases). * The majority of AI hallucination cases in the U.S. involve pro se litigants. https://cyberlaw.stanford.edu/whos-submitting-ai-tainted-filings-in-court/
