I had hundreds of VHS tapes in my collection in the nineties, including all the Star Trek series, two episodes to a tape. And I’ve definitely bought and watched DVDs/ BluRays for the special features. I’m not in the median I accept but “nobody bought VHS tapes” is spectacularly wide of the mark.

Yeah my walls full of Argos black ash “book” cases filled with twenty VHS cases per shelf back in the 1990s concur. As do the numerous DVDs and BluRays I own where the special features are the only thing I have watched since buying the disc.
