Higher level players only, the wizard will be throwing around 6th and 5th level spells.

In the north, they find the evil wizard who has kidnapped half the village for his experiments. He has been kidnapping people and sending back their simulacrums to cause chaos in town while getting him supplies. If the party is able to defeat this high level caster, they get his research.

As the party investigates, they will find puddles in the rooms where The Returned disappear from. After some arcana and investigation, they figure that the returned was a simulacrum of the original taken target. The puddle is them dissolving.

When would you use this? Honestly, never. Surprising players with a genre change unprompted can lead to some conflict in the group. It just so happens to be May 4th, so I wanted to do something a little spacey.

This ship is a Spelljammer. The crew are not native to the planet that the adventurers have been existing on, so they have been exploring while camouflaged. The salvage mission is real, it’s just in space. Once completed, the party is invited to join the crew, with no ill will if they don’t.

When the party goes to the docks, they find that the ship is shaped rather strange, and does not seem to have traditional sails. When asking the captain, they only say that it is still the fastest ship out there.
The ship departs. As soon as the port town is out of view, it launches into the air!

This dungeon used to belong to him, so he knows a few hidden passageways and can even provide a few magical enhancements to the party’s weapons as a thanks for waking him. He is not to pleased with the current occupants of the dungeon, “those squatters.” He will offer a reward on top to clear them.

If the party disturbs the contraption, they will find Dragour the Drowsy, a 19th level artificer. He built this contraption to get the best night of sleep he could ever imagine, but it worked a little too well. He’d only planned to sleep for a week, but it’s been 300 years.
May 2, 2025 at 4:47 AM
Upon some investigation and arcana checks, the party figures out that the pendulum is part of a contraption that is casting a spell every time it goes over a rune. One rune is casting sleep and the other slow. Between the two, there is a nearly eternal sleep happening in the casket.

These remains are that of a child, one who the hag had fallen in love with when they were young. The child had fallen down the well, and when the hag went to get help, they were chased out of the village and blamed for the child’s death.

Looking into it, they party will find there are remains at the bottom of the well. If they disturb them, a tragedy of wraiths will appear and attack. These remains are of the first love of the local arch hag. If they intend to slay the hag, they will need these remains.

The deck dealer is a machine built by a trickster to have some chaotic fun at traveler’s expenses. Once each player has drawn, the tent disappears and shows up in its next victim’s path.

It’s a card from the deck of some things, a tamer version of the deck of many things. A group of soldiers appear around them. A fight ensues.

Each way for opening the bookshelf leads to a different location. Open with the book, you’re in the radiant citadel. Open with the candle and you’re in the capital. Open with the bust, and you’re in the fire dimension.

But then, a candle is brought down, and the bookcase opens again. And then a secret switch behind a painting. And then a secretive book leaver on the bookshelf itself. Curiouser and curiouser.

They have a fun “time out” lair action, and a dancing action as well that can make for some fun moments.

Then they face the culprit, a Young Moonstone Dragon. These adolescents use their unique dream magic to cause mischief, but will often try to offer wisdom for the trouble the party goes through. If the party becomes hostile to the dragon, treat the dream realm as the dragon’s lair.
