Like a muscle, the tearing down can lead to greater strength if time and energy are given to recovery.

It doesn't take anything more than allowing yourself to be human with other humans. You'll find your group, and if you lose them, there are many other groups.

The Work Of Making It What It Should Be is sometimes reminiscent of the Good Life. There will be conflicts and arguments and hurt feelings. There will also be apologies and reconciliations and restorations.

Start a garden in the spring, assign different herbs and vegetables to different places as appropriate, and share in the harvest together. Help look after each other's kids and help move each other's furniture. Play D&D together.

This is how you form the real Avengers.

Draw in 10-20 people who can be established as trustworthy. If you're sober, go to meetings. Make great effort to meet regularly. Eat food together, talk about your fears and how you're handling them(or not handling them). Encourage one another to persevere.

save the world as we have seen modeled in all kinds of media. This illusion can debilitate us into inaction. But there is a different lesson to apply here: the answer isn't individual acheivement, but instead communal cohesion.
