Like hypnotising chickens.
And yes, "union flag." Historically it was the "jack" at sea and not on land because it was flown from a ship's jack-staff - but either is correct nowadays, indeed the Government made a statement to that effect back in 1908.

Also - well done the 8 out of 27 (that's almost 30%) hangers of union flags that I saw on my journey who managed to get them the correct way around. (A statistic much improved by whoever was responsible for those adorning Chesterfield's lamp-posts getting them 100% right.)

Apparently she's trying to look like a snowdrop.

Anyway... my sister said something about it and I now can't unsee this...

At the end one of them ran for safety whilst the other ran for their lives. I think this is probably AI.

I've just remembered that last September I resolved to get a new summer coat at some point before it got warmer again.

Can you not send down an angel with the key to the Abyss and have Trump bound for a thousand years, then thrown into the Abyss with it being locked and sealed over him? (setting him free for a short time after that). You've done similar before, or so I've read.

It's an early arrival - probably got an unusually strong tail wind on it's way up from the southern hemisphere (climate change?) It might need somewhere safe to rest and plug in its freezers before we'll hear its familiar song again.

So there is no "I believe the science but it's going to cost too much."
If you believe the science then you'd be acting fast, not continuing to delay. The politicians who don't act now are accountable for the deaths of millions in the future. It's the greatest genocide ever perpetuated.

Furthermore, it's almost 20 years since economist Nicholas Stern concluded that "the benefits of strong and early action far outweigh the economic costs of not acting."

The Economics of Climate Change: The Stern Review - Grantham Research Institute on climate change and the environment
The Economics of Climate Change: The Stern Review (2006) assessed a wide range of evidence on the impacts of climate change and on the economic costs.

But, yeah, apart from the pigeons, what did the Romans ever do for us?

Some years ago we had a new picket fence put in. Early the next morning I was awoken by a pitiful yowling, as you put it. Neighbour's cat, taking usual path, was stuck with front legs through the fence and back legs unable to follow. Sadly I was too busy laughing to think to get a photo.
