i mostly read things similar to casey’s writing. a few notable titles/authors would be

the Written in the Stars series by Alexandria Bellefleur

anything by Rachael Lippincott (my personal fave is She Gets the Girl)

Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli is also really feel good

i will gladly give any other recommendations if you ever need any! my entire library is queer (mostly sapphic) romance across several genres. i hope you enjoy the book!

one of the overarching themes of the book is how dangerous substances can be. you find out one of their friends died from drug use and so they all have to deal with the fallout of it. it does a fantastic job of not romanticizing substance use at all, so it would be up for you to decide

it talks a LOT about drugs and alcohol and they do have sex, but the scenes are never graphic and cut off before anything actually happens

the cover was very much drawn by jennifer prince, a known illustrator.

i also want to clarify that i meant i was sad when the book ended…because it ended. NOT because it had a sad ending, or anything even close to it. it was a very happy sappy book!
