@thebookstoreonpluto.ca
Canadian friend of many Ukrainians. I am The Bookstore On Pluto on IG and www.thebookstoreonpluto.com. I'm just here for news on Ukraine (and other relevant world issues). If I don't understand why you followed me, I won't follow back or I might block.
My friend Katya is currently in the bathtub with lots of blankets and her cat, but ok for now. 😕

This is also an indicator that if they succeed in becoming the ruling party, they will not succeed in doing anything substantial beyond having become the ruling party. They are far more vacuous than most political parties are.

I saw it 30 years ago, in my mid 20s, it terrified me. Watched it the 2nd time earlier this year, terrified me just as much.

I believe it's the "feel good underdog wins in the end" Hollywood story they love. What they don't understand is there is no Rocky in Russia, just Yuri in rural Surgut trying to dig a new outhouse hole before the frost comes in.

@explaintrade.com posted this but didn't say it was Nuzzi. I'm not going out on any limb to say this must be the same person.

The only legitimate issue facing Canada is our population/distance factor compared to other countries, but if someone talks about that as an issue to be overcome, that's good. If they bring it up as a reason to not bother moving towards EV adoption, there's no point listening to them.

I wonder what opponents of EVs in northern American states and here in Canada would say about the cold Scandinavian countries adoption rates. 🤔 A common assumption here is the colder weather.

Yes, so many things are connected. Our entire capitalist systems are not in any way designed to be environmentally friendly and changing small parts of those systems at a yearly conference won't help. It has proven to be an ineffective strategy. We need to completely change our world.

The only people who should give a shit about who is a "good Russian" or not are Russians in Russia. Let them sort their shit out.
November 17, 2025 at 10:32 AM
It is proven there are so few "good Russians" that nothing will change by being nice to them. The policy of letting Russians out of 🇷🇺 because some might be good only leads to abuse. Send them all back to their shithole and bomb the hell out of anything that they can reach out with.

"I ended the war in Venezuela!" - "Mr. Trump, you started that war" - "Doesn't matter, I gave the word and it ended."

When you give your enemy time to adjust, adapt and improve, don't be surprised when they adjust, adapt and improve. This constant thumb twiddling by everyone Russia threatens on an almost daily basis is the dumbest shit I've seen in my 58 years on 🌎

Now we can see why Trump wanted that Nobel Peace Prize ASAP, he knew his chances were only gonna go downhill. Not that he won't whine for one next year as well.

Humanity is great at adapting to the fallout of massive disasters, but terrible at avoiding the disasters in the first place.

This is an issue I agree with that sometimes gets me in trouble with the environmental activists. The problem is our entire system of existence, and having a COP every year to talk about tinkering with this part or that part of this faulty system is not going to fix anything in the long run. 😕

Yes to that.

I think is most cases, the mission was testing if they could get away with it, and what the level of public pushback would be.

I'm pretty sure this situation still exists, where political regimes have blocked the use of X for their countries, but X still allows those regime leaders to use X. eg Russia. Seems Elon really doesn't give a shit, or else he would block the leaders who block X for their own people.

Russia is content in just being a thorn in the side of, and as a result a poison throughout the body of, any nation bordering or near it.

This is probably why the tech and business oligarchy are so willing to work with the Trump GOP, they're all master manipulators. Birds of a feather etc...
November 15, 2025 at 12:38 PM
30 years ago I started following people who write/discuss advertising and the ways to manipulate the population. I followed advertising as a window into the political world. Companies copy what works. So do politicians and political parties.

Russia's strategy is heavily, if not completely, based on Western countries sticking to their Rules Based Order, so the best way to quickly defeat Russia is to shock them by temporarily ditching it. They won't know what to do.
