I wrote about the biggest rap performance of all time, Kendrick’s positioning of anti-Drake-ness as part of a larger pro-Blackness and justice for Serena Williams

It went back up again an hour later so I’m gonna go ahead and blame Drake’s whiny legal nonsense for it

Kendrick started by saying “the revolution about to be televised” & concluded with “turn this TV off”. His entire performance was a reminder of an America the Republicans are trying to erase. But we won’t let them win. We watched, we were reminded, and now it’s time to turn off the tv & get to work.

I literally watched this, while I was brushing my teeth, spent some time talking to my spouse about it, then said “you need to watch the whole thing“ and by the time I pulled it up again, it was gone. Would love to know if this is because of Drake or the US government. 🧐

#authorspotlight Leslye Penelope is one of my all time favorite authors. Not only is her historical fantasy tight, fast-paced stories filled with hope, resilience, and community, she makes sure Black queer folk are there on the page living life or their existence is discussed. #booksky 🪐📚

Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor is not a perfect middle grade book, but it is a damn fun one. Like Iron Widow before it, the ending is so explosive & entertaining that the problems I had with the first half of the book slowly faded from my mind, leaving only positive feelings behind.
