Be wise, be smart, behave my heart…

Nobody special, but will talk incessantly about music, West Ham, politics, UK republicanism, and the like. Based in the balmy sub-tropics of the Hampsire coast, (Europe).
Built by men, with spanners and shovels. Just amazing.

The excellent Clare Teal and a seven piece band live at Cadogan Hall tonight, which is always a good night.

It's the brilliant Angela Hewitt tonight at The Wigmore. Handel, Haydn, Bach and Brahms can't be a bad kick-off to the year's concerts.

Nippy on The Solent this evening, but a pleasing sunset.

It's New Year's Eve and, in a fairly radical step this Year's movie has stepped out of the black and white world; yep, this year I'll be revelling in the genius of Stubby Kaye in Guys and Dolls.

Have a great New Year everyone.

Well, we're getting towards Christmas so tonight it's Messiah at Turner Sims in Southampton with The English Concert. I may have mentioned this before but, barely credible as it seems, this masterpiece was created by a single mortal soul. George Frideric Handel.

It's Spotify's review of the year time again, and for once, my immediate reaction wasn't "really?", although I was a tad surprised to see Valentini in the top 5. JSB stays at No. 1 for another year, and I still doubt that he would approve of the graphics.

There's only so much fun that anyone can handle...

High hopes for a very well reviewed stage adaptation of Ishiguro's marvellous "Never Let Me Go" at Chichester tonight. Hopefully, an improvement over the slightly clunky filmed version

Every bar in the 70s did have a one-armed bandit.

A chilly evening on the Solent tonight but a decent sunset to make up for it.

Stop bloody growing for pity's sake.

Meanwhile, next door, (and I do mean "next door"), is an oak porch in perfect sympathy with its home and an RV with delusions of grandeur.

Do they ever emigrate.
November 11, 2024 at 7:35 PM
Something a bit different at Turner Sims tonight, two Buster Keaton features and a live piano.

Should be excellent.

Back at Turner Sims for some French/German baroque with a large helping of Italian influence thrown in. Ensemble Molière are playing Couperin plus Telemann, Blavet and their Parisian friends, and very nicely too.
October 15, 2024 at 10:03 PM
Yikes, I wish I hadn't looked him up now.
