It's New Year's Eve and, in a fairly radical step this Year's movie has stepped out of the black and white world; yep, this year I'll be revelling in the genius of Stubby Kaye in Guys and Dolls.
Have a great New Year everyone.

Well, we're getting towards Christmas so tonight it's Messiah at Turner Sims in Southampton with The English Concert. I may have mentioned this before but, barely credible as it seems, this masterpiece was created by a single mortal soul. George Frideric Handel.

It's Spotify's review of the year time again, and for once, my immediate reaction wasn't "really?", although I was a tad surprised to see Valentini in the top 5. JSB stays at No. 1 for another year, and I still doubt that he would approve of the graphics.

High hopes for a very well reviewed stage adaptation of Ishiguro's marvellous "Never Let Me Go" at Chichester tonight. Hopefully, an improvement over the slightly clunky filmed version

Back at Turner Sims for some French/German baroque with a large helping of Italian influence thrown in. Ensemble Molière are playing Couperin plus Telemann, Blavet and their Parisian friends, and very nicely too.
