Be wise, be smart, behave my heart…

Nobody special, but will talk incessantly about music, West Ham, politics, UK republicanism, and the like. Based in the balmy sub-tropics of the Hampsire coast, (Europe).
Built by men, with spanners and shovels. Just amazing.

Palmer injured in the warm-up, probably the last bit of good news this evening.

What could possibly spoil the start to a bank holiday weekend?

Welcome to West Ham v Chelsea...

So, this Ekitike lad's not up to much then.

Great American Songbook.at the Proms tonight and, as ever, I've missed out on something splendid as I'm there all day tomorrow.

Bugger.

Well, that was a smashimg First Night, and made better for us stay at homes, (yes, I should have bought a ticket for that one), by the BBC going with R3 presenters on the telly rather than celebs.

First Night of the Proms and the audience has already disgraced themselves with madcap applause after each of the first two movements of the Sibelius. Please get a grip people, for God's sake.

RefCam... dear God please not in Europe.

Oh good, it looks like the amateur aircrash investigators have now moved on to the long term effects of exposure to enriched uranium.

You've got to hand it to the German fans at the Nations League final, 105 minutes in and Cucurella is still being booed every time he touches the ball because of a handball a year ago. Nothing like holding a proper grudge in football.

RB's Futtock's End is on the telly. Wonderful stuff, but should he have had the nerve to do it in B&W?
June 8, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Well, this Thomas Tuchel England team is an absolute revelation, very difficult to believe he could make it even more tedious or worse than the last bloke but....

You've got to hand it to him.
June 7, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Adrian & Pablo line up against the West London lot, not a really hard choice of who to support tonight.
May 28, 2025 at 7:02 PM
Not so long ago Eurovision was so absurd that it was weirdly entertaining, but then people started taking it seriously...
May 17, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Palace beat City in the FA Cup Final, and there was me thinking it wouldn't be worth watching....

Arf.

In a contest between two horrible football teams I find myself actually hoping for an Arsenal win tonight.

I feel a bit dirty now.
April 16, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Half way round and Rory Mc has a 4 shot lead...

Oh my word.

I don't often open up The Other Place these days and now I remember why. Sweet Jesus, it's just a sewer.
April 12, 2025 at 8:06 PM
Brighton vs Forest, I really couldn't be less arsed

Somebody please give VAR's guide dog and nudge, ta.

Not sure in which view of reality Zorba is a better option than Todibo.
March 10, 2025 at 9:24 PM
I have a largely irrational dislike of Newcastle Utd, a club with delusions of grandeur and supporters who cannot accept their consistent underperformance. (Perhaps they're just a bit too much like us). A result for West Ham tonight will be a serious statement.
March 10, 2025 at 7:40 PM
The excellent Clare Teal and a seven piece band live at Cadogan Hall tonight, which is always a good night.
February 13, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Oh joy, live football on the BBC so we get to 'enjoy' the inanities of Alan Shearer.
February 9, 2025 at 6:47 PM
England 26 - 25 France

Well...
