Yeah, everyone knows Paranoid is good. Still blows me away though. It holds up today, but listening to it in 1970 historical context is mind-destroying. War Pigs, Electric Funeral, Hand of Doom. Come on. This is the heaviest shit on EARTH at the time.

Next discog run, for obvious reasons.
It's incredible how strong the band is already. NIB is such a well-crafted and well-performed song. And the title track is INSANE. This was the heaviest thing ever at the time, and for many years after.

Long shot I know, but if you're local (or if you wanna make a road trip) and you want tickets I've got a few left for $20 out the door. No stupid fees or anything! DM me if you want in

Aside from the AI art, I think Parasomnia is a triumph. The previous record showed signs of reclaiming their former glory, and now they're back. It's dark, heavy, and majestic, like all of the great Dream Theater albums. Big time Train of Thought vibes. Easy top 5!

This was a fun record to make. I love the juxtaposition between the thrashy songs and the proggier moments. I think it's a good starting point for new fans and a solid middle ground of where my work has been and where it's going.

My favorite day of the year! Great day to listen to a new song or catch up on the previous albums!

I know this is more for Michiganders, but we're posting here anyway. This is a huge deal. Sanctuary is my favorite venue in Detroit and I literally can't wait. I need all my locals there for this, and we've got advance tickets! So DM me if you need tickets and I'll hook you up.

Yes yes yes! This one jostles with Dramatic Turn as my favorite Mangini record. Perfect mix of heavy and proggy, well-paced songwriting. I guess the only thing you could say is it's not really pushing anything forward with their style. But if the music's good, does it matter?

Better! After a huge concept album, getting back to basics was a smart choice. This sounds more like a band enjoying their time together. Especially S2N and Fall Into the Light. I'd like a little bit more proggy stuff, but maybe they'll fix that next time :)

Yeahhh...I dunno. I liked it more this time around than usual but it's still bottom tier. Little bit too long winded in some places. The story and most of the leitmotifs aren't super exciting. Second disc would have been a pretty good album on its own though.

DT discog pt 12 - S/T
It's good! Doesn't have the same magic as the last few but it's a bunch of well-crafted songs with a good mix of styles. Surrender to Reason is critically underrated imo. Illumination Theory is a bit long-winded but the ending is cool

Well, I missed GOOD baseball so much.
I'm just really happy I can start posting this again.

Yeah! I like this one too. It's kind of a quintessential DT record. More deserving of being self-titled than the follow up, honestly. Plenty of huge riffs, sprawling song structures, crazy instrumentals, and a couple heartfelt ballads. What's not to like?
