@nakedpastor.bsky.social perfectly captures the true meaning of this parable. Too many times Christians see themselves as the Good Samaritan, but the victim was the individual passed over by the priest and Levite, the religious elite of Jesus’ day.

Condemning a Christian pastor for *checks notes* asking an adversarial government to have mercy.
To condemn mercy is to condemn Jesus. Do not be fooled. They have come for every single freedom in the constitution. Free speech, assembly and freedom of religion are next.

I thought this was beautiful. My goal is to draw closer to Jesus and make His love and His joy the center of my relationships with others, not myself. Less of me, more of Him.
