These are dahlias I dug up yesterday—along with the bearded irises I dug up in August. I don’t know what to do. (I actually left the irises in the wire basket since August)

🌱. Seriously, what do you guys do with bulbs you need to store? I’ve seen everything from paper bag to some peat moss recipe, to sand. I have Dahlias and beautiful yellow bearded irises. I put some dahlias in a paper bag a few weeks ago and this is what I ended up with!

🌱. Damn! I just pulled up all this lantana which I thought was an annual and looked dead! 🤦‍♀️. I could’ve just cut it back and mulched. Live and learn. The pic is when I planted it. But it had grown and spread so much.

🌱. This is the 1st time I’ve brought a Boston fern inside for the winter! Wish us (Boston and me) luck! So far, it seems happy! We’ve actually had spitting snow here in Nashville today! ❄️

Am I late on this? Can we please discuss the detective working the louvre heist? He looks like he’s abt 26 yrs old and is objectively hot. The suit, tie, umbrella—I’d love to know your thoughts and also @dieworkwear.bsky.social on this?

But TODAY?! One of my neighbors says she has a rat bc of my compost bin. Her rat is eating birdseed in her mini-lawn. My compost bin is sealed and filled with flowers and brown paper. Any advice re: rats and compost bin? It’s a black&decker totally sealed composter.

🌱. Thearest in the ginko leaves a few years ago. Poorly groomed ears. But, the ears are lovely and flowing now. Sadly, we moved away from the ginko.

🌱. What do yall do when your outdoor/ real basil has gone to seed but you need basil for a recipe and you buy the plant from
Trader Joe’s? I aim to keep it living but it looks like it wants to die every morning. Repot? (At least). Name it?
October 15, 2025 at 1:29 PM
🌱I’ll be naming the rest of my plants. Right now, only the 1st fiddle leaf fig has a name: “Precious.” But, now I’m certain that my other house plants would benefit from names. Here’s Precious who started out at 12” 2018!

🌱. Why I can’t quit the basil gone completely to seed. The cosmos are hosts too!!

🌱. EVERYONE!! Finally, a morning glory! I have so many plants and vines growing—since April! I was afraid it’d never flower! This DEF goes into the gardening journal: “Oct 5, 2025; 1 heavenly blue morning glory flower.”

🌱. This is on my livin easy rose. I’ve never seen anything like it. When I use plant identifier it’s Sweetbriar. But what in the world? I’m novice roses (2 yrs) but never seen this. What is it and why? Should I do anything?

🌱. Here’s a better pic of our new rat snake!! Need to name him.
September 29, 2025 at 2:26 PM
🌱. Yall know we’ve been having rat problems. We’ve caught and released 4. Today—we’ve upped the solutions to introducing a rat snake!! Rats are popping out of their holes now!
Also—realized that rats arrived likely bc of water/ sewer work for neighbor’s house.
