This year, for the first time, someone in my undergrad anatomy class FINALLY chose to "do a make-up tutorial demonstrating the muscles of facial expression" for their assigned creative project and I am STOKED.

We stumbled upon a glass blowing competition in kzoo where one of the challenges was to bring children's drawings to life and here is "just a typical girl robot just living a normal life."

I was a weird mix of "very moody emo kid" and "semi-elite athlete in a niche sport nobody knew anything about." I hung out mostly with climbers & gym rats & only a handful of my peers, which just enhanced my weirdness. Pretended not to give a shit but definitely gave lots of shits about everything.

I'm having fun course prepcrastinating.

Weirdest #academia spam email: received a *video* of some guy scrolling through one of my recent pubs, ultimately to pitch an app that turns research articles into audiobooks for "researchers on the go." Not a form email, a personalized form video in which he said my name and talked about my paper 🤨

Lolzing at this. We're considering rebranding our lab (to make our acryonym more salient to participants interested in speech research when we give them our URL). We've been brainstorming some ideas (thanks for inspo, chatgpt) and then a student sent me this (gave permission to share).
