With my Protestant upbringing, I learned people look at you funny if you say, "If god shows up, you should grab him. If you manage to hold onto him long enough, then he has to grant you a wish."

We are permitted to believe we live in a democracy, not solely because the political right wing supports entrenched power structures by definition, but also (and perhaps primarily) because a culture war is absolutely not a war against the ruling class.

The Democrats have already developed a foolproof strategy to lose the next Presidential election, which is three years away, just in case the USA still exists at that point. I'll admit they're capable of thinking long-term and putting contingency plans into place.
