Remember when the GOP impeached Bill Clinton, saying he had besmirched the Office by immoral conduct?

Well, since Trump entered politics in 2015, it has become acceptable to make racist, transphobic, & misogynistic remarks. NO NEED TO WHISPER!

As a Catholic & an historian, I am aware of all the times that the Church has been on the wrong side of moral issues. In fact, it has at times perpetuated grave injustices (see anti-semitism, the Inquisition, etc.)

But yesterday, the Church landed on the right side.

This simple article requires very little comment.

Remember that Trump is probably in violation of the "Emoluments" Clause of the Constitution. Dems in Congress claimed there were $7.8 million in payments from foreign govt.s to Trump-owned businesses.

We used to be against racial profiling. Not anymore, I guess. Another brick in America's democratic house is crushed.

I didn't know what a "Real ID" was, but this article explains it clearly.

At what point is a democracy no longer a democracy??

Some of the milestones we've passed on the road to fascism this year.

So History repeats: Hitler had a meeting with 25 industrialists when he took office who pledged financial support for business favors.

Musk, Zuck, & Besos sat with Trump when he was sworn in.

Pol. scientists call it "anticipatory obedience". Trump only had to attack 2 or 3 institutions in each category to force compliance: Harvard & Columbia; attorneys Perkins & Cole; ABC & CBS in defamation suits, etc.

It’s not inconceivable that, had the firms resisted the President’s executive orders, his momentum for lawlessness might have been curbed.

I am worried about the '26 midterms. I think the Admin will stage an incident to spark protests, then invoke the Insurrection Act, sending out troops nationwide, & suspending the midterms.

We need to plan a GENERAL STRIKE (NOBODY GOES TO WORK) for Fall '26 if they do, until democracy is restored.
The new fed. Dpty. Asst. Secy. for Election Integrity said: the Admin could declare a 'national emergency' & justify dictating new rules to state and local gov'ts...based on an 'actual investigation' of the 2020 vote if...there had been a 'manipulation' of the vote."
