When much of the Republican coalition is made up of folks who see a city and whisper “this looks like literal hell with all these people living so close to each other” a police state seems like a valid option “for *those* people”.

It was a primary election in NYC — where retail politics can function and a candidate can reshape the demographics of the participants. Is there something there? Absolutely. A turning point? Nah.

The recent Court has adopted the “oops, sorry, nothing we can do” when they can right wrongs and are more than happy to allow the wronging of rights.
