Winter arriving late but in style

Gonna tell my grandkids this was the first e-bike.

Started off the new year right with a little light reading, Poverty, By America by Matthew Desmond.

The book does a good job capturing all the various ways the poor are hemmed in as well as a succinct survey of ways we can help (e.g., reform welfare laws, change municipal zoning, etc).

Saw this book recommended a few times over on the bird site, and can confirm it’s a delightful and illuminating read. Devil in the White City by Erik Larson

My family paid $10 to the forest service to go cut down a tree which made for a fun if stressful half-day family adventure (not pictured).
