-time regardless. Really this game's biggest issue is the way that it runs on PC. Trying to do pretty much anything with it is such a pain in the ass. The mouse controls could feel more smooth too, but that sloppiness was usurped by the overall quality of the experience. Pretty good for what it was.

-And of course the animatronics themselves are generally well-designed and can be very spooky with the help of the atmosphere. I felt like the simplicity of the mechanics gave me a lot of room for every little aspect of the experience to get absorbed properly, resulting in the frantic flipping of-

-The nightly phone calls can sometimes be just as funny as they are eerie and intriguing, while still teaching you most of what you'd need to know, with Scott bringing a particular feeling of authenticity to his performance that I feel isn't often replicated in the fan projects that I see.-

Five Nights At Freddy's (2014) 9/10

It only took me 10 years to get around to this game. The high quality sound design, dark lighting, cramped setting and random events create a very unnerving atmosphere that still creeped me out at times in spite of knowing most of this game's tricks and details.-

-but the story feels kinda dry due to this not being expanded on properly, especially during the continuation of the story. Instead it seems more focussed on making silly "orange you glad" jokes". Still a good time, but I can see how someone might not like it.

-It does however suffer from the ability for the enemy's RNG to camp you out in a room and ensure your death, as well as some very abrupt endings and vague story elements that definitely could have been focussed on more. For example, I understand the connection between Mama and your own mother,-

Tattletail (2016) 7/10

A flawed but fun horror experience that shines through its atmospheric sounds, charming and frustrating companion (who then gains extra personality in the expansion), solid use of lighting, entertaining story with some wacky moments, and a tense moments of being hunted.-

-objective becomes and the easier it is to complete, making its completion ever the more sweet and satisfying. Your own mindset might dictate the type of experience you can have here which is a nice cherry on top of a cute, short little game like this one.

A Short Hike (2019) 10/10

A beautiful pixelated 3d experience with a somewhat simple but very charming story, as well as a fun cast of characters with some cute and interesting moments, and a smooth and pretty flexible feeling movement system. Exploring, running errands and competing in challenges-

-expected after playing Boba Teashop. Some humour can even be found in the tedious process of restocking at first, however this is still a huge flaw with the actual mechanics of the game and not something that can be ignored. Not without some merit, but a failed and very messy horror experience.

-It also felt very unfocussed, as you're usually being bothered by the supernatural and yet the game itself has nothing more than a basic serial killer plot. The rather unserious nature of the pickup system can make the cooking feel a little fun at times, and it's a little more advanced than I-

Kiosk (2025) 3/10

This is a game that I think works better when it's a mildly atmospheric restaurant manager than an actual horror game. It is mostly reliant on jumpscares, where I'd mostly just get mad at how cheap they were afterwards instead of becoming more immersed in the horror of the game.-

would sometimes be too long and hide words offscreen. Otherwise it's a great short experience with a tense atmosphere and nice worldbuilding, and to top it off is completely free to play!

Krypta FM (2024) 8/10

This is a very unique horror experience compared to anything I've played in recent memory. The early 2000s web aesthetic is really cosy in contrast to the dark, empty feeling of the world outside your house. It gets you to feel very involved, and I found the tight community-

presumed jank means I probably won't ever return to this and play it seriously. I had consistent issues with my bus slowing to a crawl over seemingly nothing and getting overly stuck on even smaller objects, as well as my turning indicator just not working most of the time.

for that as opposed to other simulators I've tried in the past. This combined with some of the game's janky aspects lets you squeeze out some dumb fun and good laughs. However while the intended experience was alright and fairly chilled, at least at the point of the game I was at, ultimately that-

Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop (2021) 4/10

I'm not one to look for simulators and vehicle driving games, but in the end it was free and I did put some hours into it. The biggest strength of bus sim I'd say is the freedom you get to ignore the intended gameplay and how lenient it is in punishing you-

-the short playtime ensures it doesn't get monotonous. One last minor thing is that while I wasn't expecting a branching story from a small game, it does kind of suck that none of your choices seem to affect anything. This is somewhat annoying at the end where the game forces your hand completely.

The Boba Teashop (2025) (6/10)

It can certainly be tense. I found myself checking every inch of the restaurant dreading a surprise that never came, and the earlier scares were effective. Sadly it wears off a little too fast for a game this short and some of the later horror is more underwhelming-
