I didn’t vote Labour and don’t trust Starmer but thought at least he was a statesman, with decorum and decency, and as such a necessary change from the Tories’ shrill, populist bilge. And then he makes a speech on immigration to dignify and empower base racism and I see we’ve barely moved on at all.
