I think I've stumbled onto a business model that will give me more time for art AND for writing. Woooot! Meanwhile, here's one of this week's torn-paper collages. (3" x 5" on cold-pressed watercolor paper. Images from an issue of "Yankee" magazine, plus gold glitter.)

Dinosaur World in central Florida is weird and wonderful... especially if you visit with children, or a husband who's still a child at heart. lol! The dinos are full-size, and that sign on the tree shows how high the water was during Hurricane Milton. Wow!

Yesterday's fog at the Magic Kingdom (Disney World, FL). It made everything seem even more magical there.

Here's why we're going to Disney World tonight, and probably tomorrow, and Sunday, too: Last Saturday morning, Wait times were RIDICULOUSLY short... even with gorgeous weather. (This was the first time in _years_ we've seen the wait <1 hour. "Pirates..." was the same.)

At Disney World's EPCOT park, it's the annual Festival of the Arts. As part of that, artists are invited to create chalk art on the walkway to the World Showcase. It was inspiring!

Another surprise at WDW this weekend: Seeing this t-shirt amid a sea of people wearing Disney-themed shirts. I took this (unknown) guy's photo and shared it with Patrick Renna. (The Rennas are long-time friends from shared time in Boston & L.A. ...I LOVE coincidences!)

The first surprise this weekend: Being able to walk right onto WDW's Haunted Mansion attraction. No waiting line!

We needed to get out of the house and pretend that everything's normal here. So, we went to WDW, and spent the evening at EPCOT. Here's a photo from their GORGEOUS current costume display.

Redesigning my websites, I found this photo. It's from the "1000 Journals Project" of 2001. I was invited to participate in that round-robin project, and had received the journal on September 8th, before driving to Florida to finalize plans for an arts event. I wrote in it the day after 9/11.

Today's progress on the blocks piece. (The red is actually a plain primary red.)

And yes, I do paint my toenails pale turquoise. Little kids seem almost hypnotized by it, looking from my feet to their moms', and back again. ☺️

Here's yesterday's progress with the current "blocks" piece. I'm testing two different kinds of watercolors and two different markers, so expect more changes as I continue to work on this.

Great decision! Looks cozy. And comforting. Thanks!

I'm testing black pens on textured watercolor paper, for use with watercolor washes. So far, the best results are with a Rapidograph (point size = 0 ).

The blocks drawing at left is about 2/3 complete. The leafy page on the right is ready for me to apply watercolors.

Here's the view this morning from the backyard at this Airbnb. (It's the same one in yesterday's photo.) The water in the pond goes up after a rainstorm. Birds love it!

And yes, it really does look like this, just ~6 miles from Walt Disney World.

Breakfast in the lanai, at our current Airbnb (Orlando, FL). A lovely way to start the morning! (Yes, I ate more than just an omelette, and that's pomegranate juice in the glass. 🙂)

This weekend was amazing fun! I tested a kiddie camera and it actually works well. This was my second photo with this camera, and I'm in love with it! (Yes, I haven't yet figured out how to use the date stamp. 😉 LOL) More: aisling.net/not-just-a-k...
