The Gnosia anime continues to be very game like. I don't know if thats a good or bad thing.
I do like the breaks from game convention tbh, but it is a very stylistic choice to have moments in the anime that correspond heavily to mechanics from the VN.

There has to be some linguistic political nut who has done a whole thesis about how spanish (and other latin american languages that came from colonization) has evolved in its multitude of countries vs. english in the americas.

My hot take is Hot Allostatic Load is a very good transfeminist essay, especially if you are familiar with Porpentine's writing style, that has unfortunately, and easily, wielded by people with less than benevolent intent.

useful to remind people that "if they go for A then they'll go for B next" is just a half truth. what actually happens is they attempt to leverage B against A then when A is rightless & policed by B, they'll leverage C against B. it's the assumption that B is untouched but B is Recruited Against A
tbh, the US supreme court not budging on gay marriage is great, but also this happening while codifying anti-abortion and anti-trans laws is either strategic in the face of opposition or an example of the project of homonationalist integration, at a time where fascist parties have cis LGB leaders

That said, I do hope Guillermo del Toro does another Spanish language work again some day. I enjoy his big sweeping stuff but "Pan's Labyrinth" remains my favorite work by him and I'd love to see him return to that space.
Saw Frankenstein.
I wish there was more of the creature because the movie really comes alive when he was around, but I think del Toro would eventually have it become "Shape of Water 2.0".
