Ultimately, these options are not hard to think about, or exceptionally expensive.

What is required is actual will to change. A real interest in the well-being of those who are not like you.

Even if you disagree with my suggestions, why not ask Black and Brown people how to help?

The judges can't be all/overwhelmingly white and middle class, and yet tell us it's some kind of level playing field.

Find a way to understand that there are many, many kinds of storytelling traditions and open up to those possibilities.

Open up opportunities for meeting people in all stages of publication. Let's meet booksellers and editors and, yes, agents, and so on.

Be able to earn it ourselves. Many of us can't afford workshops or MFAs or whatever. Sponsor that. We want to be taught to fish. We don't want meaningless charity that soothes guilt. Heck, I'd volunteer to teach in such a set-up.
