Mastodon, for instance, was totally by accident. I only got it because I had a Vivaldi account in my browser already. I was curious as to what the requirements were, so I clicked to create a account, and BAM! It was made instantly; no other sign-in method required. I don't regret it. 😊

If Discord hadn't started with the whole "Let's block people from being adults until they scan their face or have government IDs handy" crap, I might've never joined. Funnily enough, I joined Discord by choice, most other accounts I made were either by necessity or by accident.
