That’s my point, once Ryan gets the red card all your 3 best tighthead lock options are injured or out of the game. I think the next best would be Henderson and he’s also more of a loosehead

And they usually have Allan available and Belloni wasn’t bad there in July.

Ah so Plumtree plays like he does because he thinks hr has the cloak

Well what other tighthead lock should’ve been playing then?

The thing we'd really want before 2027 is to have won something, hard to put yourself in the top echelons going into a World Cup without that

That means the 2026 or 2027 6 Nations or the new Nations Championship. Suspect 2027 with France and Scotland at home is the best hope but it's only 3 chances

It’s an eternal debate. I probably lean towards I would like to see less pens in the scrum, especially where the better scrum isn’t being prevented from exercising their dominance. You get an advantage already from shoving a team back a few meters.

It's amazing what Richie McCaw put on his Vinted store.

(FWIW I think Australia gave the Boks the 2nd toughest challenge at scrum this year!)

Having our best scrummaging tight head lock injured doesn't help and our next best getting rightly sent off didn't either. We have nowhere near the front row depth and 2nd row depth of south africa.

Bingo! Although it did seem shaky in the last quarter, they just about held it together which is a massive positive.

Those two games will be so huge - I think even narrow losses for England where they take both teams to the brink will be huge for their 2027 prospects.

It was a game we would have lost this time last year so nice to see that progression even if it wasn't as good a performance as last week

Feels like a team has to put in an actually quality performance to beat us now, suspect France and SA at home in 2026 will be able to but will be fun to find out

France can get away with it because all their loosies can jump in the lineouts (and are usually the lineout callers). Time for Doris and VDF to learn 4 ball and 6 ball

I guess the question is for the Boks who’s behind Marx, PSDT and Wiese especially and can they keep that level of performance.
