the dodgers, my dog, food, gin, books, etc.
I basically agree. The deal may age badly for Baltimore, but the Mets absolutely should be operating like the dodgers from the standpoint of “if he declines, who cares, we’ll just go sign another good player because we have more money than god” and it’s concerning that they aren’t.

Yeah I think trading Teoscar would be an overreaction. Hope for some positive regression offensively so that his bat is somewhere between his 2024 and 2025, and sign or trade for someone who can handle center to push pages to right and Teoscar to left to hide his glove, problem solved.

Aw come on, if he can just win at the same rate he has the last two seasons, he’ll only have to do that for *checks notes* eight more years, until he’s 50! Easy!

I like to do vinaigrette, feta, Kalamata olives, pine nuts, scallions, and Italian parsley. Potential subs:
roasted red pepper for/with olives, pickled red onion for scallions, dollops of ricotta for feta, really any fresh green herb for parsley. Pasta salads are so customizable, it’s great!

Gosh, there really is absolutely nothing not to love about Yamamoto (and Carlos).

All of this is to say that if Jack had managed to make his way over to Bearnard, Bearnard almost certainly would have ran from him. But I’m still extremely glad you didn’t have to find that out one way or the other.

The second was the time that all of us were woken up at just before sunrise to Fletcher absolutely *losing his mind* howling and barking at something in front of the house. When we sleepily tumbled out to see what could possibly be upsetting him like that, we found he had treed a black bear.

I mentioned before that he was a gentle dog. So gentle, in fact, that I only ever heard him bark twice in his life, and both up at the ranch, on weekends when my family visited. The first was when we were all out on a walk and he suddenly sprang into action to warn us of a rattlesnake.

They had found him, abandoned, when they bought a property up in the Sierra Nevada, and nursed him back to health and then kept him as their own, but they always brought him when they went up to “the ranch” from their place in LA. He loved it up there and knew the land better than any of us.
