Insert perfect summary of my life (impressive, wildly varied, witty). Insert disclaimer that posts belong to me.
Hats | fountain pens | metal | walkable cities

Everything here in a private capacity.
Perfect! It has just that red / rust tone for the look of blood drying.

I was in a long meeting with people outside my organisation when a full fountain pen converter failed - leaving me literally with Writer's Blood all over my hands.

(Me later, in the bathroom: "What, will these hands ne'er be clean?")

My two write beautifully, look great and feel great in my hand. Right down to the very satisfying click putting the cap back on.

I bought earplugs for metal concerts, which also do a remarkably good job of filtering out the world when I want to write or study.
Also great oen / Cf/ espresso combination. ✒️

The nazar looks so good against the leather!

Look it up when she asks for a bottle of writer's blood for her birthday. 😳 🩸

I would have had an even worse experience of learning to write at that time.

I have not heard of the Spencerian style, so thank you for that. 😊
I'll have a look at the manual and give it a go. I have never been accused of writing with "an inexhaustible variety of beautiful forms", so I only stand to gain.

Maybe I need to get that Pelikan Griffix. 🙂

I manage the same hold over all of them.

The tripod grip just seems to lack control, and I can never maintain it for longer than a few characters.

Also, in case anyone thinks this is a new phenomenon, I first held a pen in the 1970s. I was corrected and then punished by teachers for years for my grip and handwriting. I have bought special pens, and slipped triangular rubber sleeves over pens. My workhorse fountain pens include Lamy Safaris.

I've noticed that too, mainly because it's how I hold a pen.

That was one of the main reasons why I got into fountain pens in the first place, to try to improve - or at least lighten - my grip. It hasn't improved my grip, but the death grip is a bit looser these days, and my hand aches less.

The fountain pen feed is basically my home page here.

Thank you for the reminder. I spent some good time with Endtime Signals today. I need to swim upstream from this album.

I hadn't heard of them either until a few months ago, when YouTube recommended one of the singles from their next album as something I might like. And I did like it.
Intense and propulsive. I've had Descent and the EP The Forgotten on high rotation since.

I've been listening to Orbit Culture a bit the past few weeks. The 2023 Forgotten album, and the singles from the new album out soon. Also Ne Obliviscaris, after seeing them live last month.

I paused over DT's latest on my Bandcamp list just the other day. Might have to play it today. 😎

Cool. My Prera and Metropolitans are always favourites among my workhorse pens.

Nice!
I'd be interested to hear how you find the pen. I've circled around theseca few times (especially that red).

Quite frankly, I'm looking forward to meeting our ASKAP masters when they get here. Humans have set such a low bar on many fronts, there's at least a reasonable chance that they'd do better.

Grandma's "savings"? 🤔
