Labour's swing to the far right indirectly praised by Tommy Robinson. Is it just his ilk that needs to be stopped or those actually in control of the racist and totalitarian state apparatuses? Thanks to Nick Robinson for highlighting.

Streeting the Starmtrooping apparatchik being opportunistic, hypocritical and politically illiterate in less than two sentences.

This must pose a dilemma to the thoroughly modern fash that's embraced Zionism and remains poppy-fanatical. Maybe in their eyes these are the wrong kind of veterans, though.

Naah, I could just remove the left hemisphere of my brain and write my own stilted, factually inaccurate summaries of my own research, thank you very much.

There's a frank succinctness about this that reminded me a tad of the brief sketches of J. P. Morgan, Woodrow Wilson and other bounders in John Dos Passos' USA Trilogy.

Liberalism and fascism are two mutually compatible technologies of control under capitalism. It makes no sense to bemoan one side of the equation and not the other, as Hamid Bendaas suggests here.

I have a story in the new issue of Private Eye about the Gaza 40 students. The government are now making the right noises but some urgent action is needed to ensure these scholars get to our shores safely.

Yes, but even this lets him off too lightly. The point is that he is himself a far right leader or Farage and the Patriotic Alternative wouldn't have praised him for his far right policies.

Via Naomi Thompson. It is a sign of our morally lopsided times that people on here saying that they didn't like his politics but nonetheless RIP have had diddly squat to say about the millions more victims of the forms of colonial and imperial violence this guy condoned to the hilt.

Stop the genocide, stop the persecution of those who want to stop it.

Far-right figures with actual executive power spotted practising the kind of "liberal" (Mondon and Winter) and "state" (Foucault) racism that gets large numbers of people killed. Known to brandish flags and spout demented ideas about immigration when they think it'll get them out of a political jam.

Look at this letter that was tacked onto a speaker during our performance at Victorious by a staff member, which read, "We ask that no flags at all be flown on our site on our stages or screens."

And then look at these pictures by the excellent photographer Jon Neil.
