死ぬまでにW杯優勝見せてくれ！
朝起きたら日本がブラジルに勝ってて朝からずっとニュース見てる。ドーハの悲劇をリアルタイムで見て絶望し、初のW杯出場に歓喜し、ドイツW杯でブラジルにボコられヒデが引退したの涙流した世代からすればマジ感慨深い。思えば遠くまで来たもんだ。

イギリスに来てるんだけど、ロンドンやケンブリッジは日本の大都市のそれと似ていて街が有機的に絡まり合い、住居と店と学校が絡まり合っている。それがいいのか悪いのかは別として、街には学校から帰宅する中学生や幼稚園帰りに公園で遊ぶ子供達が溢れており、なんと言うか、人間と言う社会性動物が育つにはこう言う環境の方がいいんじゃないかな、と思ったり。

イギリスに来てるんだけど、ロンドンやケンブリッジは日本の大都市のそれと似ていて街が有機的に絡まり合い、住居と店と学校が絡まり合っている。それがいいのか悪いのかは別として、街には学校から帰宅する中学生や幼稚園帰りに公園で遊ぶ子供達が溢れており、なんと言うか、人間と言う社会性動物が育つにはこう言う環境の方がいいんじゃないかな、と思ったり。

Just in NIH grants, It looks like beautiful Iowa City, home of the U of Iowa, will lose $71m in funding. That's almost $1k per resident. And that's before all the other cuts to SSA, FDA, etc.
Anyone in Iowa City that can offer more insight?

This is an unbelievable approach. When Mark gave a talk regarding this crazy technique at UTSW, I was like "holy sxxt", and I am still "holy sxxt" when I read the preprint 😂
We lack tools to rapidly track >1-2 changing signals in brain fluids. Peter Kalugin and an amazing team begin to address this challenge with simultaneous, real-time tracking of many (10+) neuromodulatory signals using Multiplexed Optical Recording of Sensors on a micro-Endoscope. Feedback welcome!

I still clearly remember that day. It may be 10-15 sec earthquake, but I felt like it lasted forever. Turned on TV and saw Hanshin Highway was collapsed, and fires were everywhere. The scenes were beyond imaginary. It took away many lives, 合掌. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmoj...

Excited to share our single-cell study on aging mouse brain! We found 2,449 cell-type specific age-DE genes, and an aging hotspot in specific hypothalamic cell types involved in energy homeostasis, which show both decreased neuronal function and increased immune response. doi.org/10.1038/s415...

I saw today in Japanese restaurant that somebody “insert” chopsticks into rice like this picture. This is how to serve meal to dead people in Japan…we are taught we never ever should do when we eat with chopsticks so whenever I see somebody in US does this, I feel really strange…
