Lefty is a childhood nickname. My politics is 4 dimensional. Don’t label me. If it’s true, necessary, beneficial or funny, then go ahead.
Trump and his gang are like drunks in a bar throwing punches at anyone and everyone, staff, friends, security, they don't care.

Better that iranians be armed and shot at (and killed) than american or israeli personnel

I’d have phrased it in the positive, as “should bother us equally as much” with which order Australians and Palestinians are mentioned being almost moot.

* There are reports that another guy was trying to get to the other shooter to try to disarm him, seen in a video, but he was mistaken as being one of the perpetrators and some people attacked him, started beating him but he didn’t resist. His name is withheld as he’s a refugee on a bridging visa.

Ahmed used to be a policeman in Syria, he disarmed the gunman, pointed the gun at him then put it down IMO to not be mistaken as a shooter.*

The son fired at Ahmed to provide cover for his dad who made his way back to the bridge, hitting Ahmed’s right hand and arm.
* see next.

Reports are that generally the latest chemistry LFP batteries , are all lasting much longer than original specs. Mine has a ten year warranty. Plus most are now slowing the charge btwn 80-100%, like on recent smartphones, which prevents overheating.

These days it’s the immediate viral headline that gets to the most people. Later more accurate reports, often totally contradicting details in the Breaking News, don’t undo the first impressions.

The VPPs offer $credits for referrals.
Not all VPPs operate the same way. I can opt in or out of mine with a touch of a button. I stay in mostly as the automation has improved and gives me good results now (it takes time to learn my patterns)

Trouble with “the average household” as a basis for policy is that it ignores the wide variety of different households that make up the average. The argument in the article suits homes where house is empty 9-5 M-F and use ⚡️in peaks.
New policy announced yesterday is not unreasonable.

I’ve never understood the kind of mindset that thinks how way Tsiolkas does on this. It must be that they already had a position and when new information presents, ego & intellect make it easier to double down rationalising than admit one was wrong & then feel shame for what one's ignorance meant.

That’s excluding the long term and often permanent effects that malnutrition can have in so many ways

Just read Wikipedia. Looks like another, albeit creative, playing on the American malaise, antipathy to collectives, hero-ising the maverick, fear of science, the “other”as alien, inscrutable & a threat… maybe intended but probs reinforces tropes rather than challenging them. Or a surprise end?

If Gov doesn’t want to take away tax concessions on existing housing for property investors, then at least allow private home buyers the same deductibles on interest costs, repairs, legal fees etc. Oh, and flip the % of mandatory “affordable” to unaffordable housing in new developments.

Resonant with the section from William Blake’s "America: A Prophecy" (1793)“ popularly called "Let the Slave”.

I worked as tech crew contractor in broadcast news in late 1980s, was the same then, the urge to conformity, assimilation, homogeneity among journalists was strong, a few exceptions stood out asking the salient questions at press conferences etc. I think most don’t want to stand out for that reason.

Much of the inequality & poverty in the world comes from energy dependence. Most places have some natural source of renewable energy that could be exploited to lessen their dependency. Non-renewables - oil, gas, coal can be stolen & profited from once. Solar& wind farms can be rebuilt repeatedly.
