Yep. Especially rural. I thought central TX would be much more Longhorn but it's close to 50/50.

Yep. Even before OU and UT left, the upper tier B12 teams would beat up on each other. Kansas would f up someone's dreams and TxTU would throw in a tortilla. The newer entrants are likewise part random with a dash of zen. The chaos followed UT/OU to the SEC. And Alum OU just Kansased Bama. Awesome.
