SB 38 will change the eviction process for all renters. Lt Gov Dan Patrick and lobbyists for landlords are misusing the language of “squatters” to strip rights away from every single renter in Texas.

The bill is passed in the Senate but still faces opposition in the Texas House. #eviction #txlege

We also see the effects of this across racial lines. Households of color are two to three times as likely to be extremely low-income renters as white households. And Black renters are more likely to be severely cost- burdened compared to white renters. #thegap25
