Gardening, homesteading in North East Texas. Blue island in a deep Red Sea.
Diamond dog was a 1 yr old shelter mutt when my daughter adopted her 7 years ago. We believe she is Pitt bull/lab mix. She is huge and way too much dog for me to handle. But I grew to love her over the years. She is my walk buddy. Together we have put in thousands of miles on country roads.

Rare opportunity to observe the process of toilet paper shredding art. Notice both front paws and mouth are fully involved in this example. Back paws and bunny kicks are often used but not observed here.

This old girl starts heartworm treatment next week. She’s been on heartworm preventative her whole life with negative test results every year. The heartworm med company is paying for the treatment. Paws in for Diamond dog.

Rocky was a barred rock chicken, my favorite kind of chicken. Here she is helping take an on-line class.

Can’t believe I got a picture of these juvenile barn swallows resting on the
rail. Click to see the whole picture.

My friend gifted me 6-7 tomato seedlings all crowded into a single tiny pot. I didn’t have the time to tease them apart and just stuck them in an empty spot in the garden. The plants grew huge, in spite of the challenging start. The tomatoes are beautiful and delicious. Have no idea what they are.

My orange boy, Kane Kitty, prefers drinking out of the outdoor fish tank. The cats have a fountain that filters water inside but they prefer the birdbath and fish tank.

Periwinkle (vinca major.) I picked up a multicolor 12-pack of tiny seedlings in March. Periwinkles perform well in hot Texas summers.

Teddy Bear sunflower. A friend gave me a seedling in April. Fun plant. I’m hoping to save a few seeds for next year. #bloomscrolling
