Just barking at the moon.
I mean, I don't think I'd fly from Australia to LA even if I won.

That's a LONG flight. Sydney to LA nonstop is like 13 hours. Then home. Not accounting for all the other factors of travel.

I saw one trip planner quote 79 hours roundtrip.

Not for the Game Awards.

And especially not these days.

Interesting.

I feel like AGE often has the online reputation of "File Not Found" and frankly I should know better then to listen to that.

There's no new series coming anytime soon as far as I'm aware so, by god, I think it might be time to jump in to AGE 👍

NGL your enthusiasm in these posts is pushing me ever closer to watching Age 🤔

Are we due for "3D is the future!!!" to get back on the escalator again?

That's always a nice simple one. Low overhead. Easy to ignore.

I think a big tipping point for people is when they finally come to the realization that losing Souls doesn't actually matter.

There's infinite souls to collect out there and losing 20K eventually stops even registering as a "loss".

Once you cross that mental rubicon it's all rainbows.

Getting stuck causes players to explore the world.

Dying causes players to think about what they're doing.

An "impossible" situation causes players to learn how the game works and eventually achieve the impossible.

We need to be able to design *some* games around these fundamental ideas.

The best thing Sony ever did was let us disable trophy notifications.

... they should ask THE SAME ROBOT to make for them.

Its crazy. But mostly sad.

Because they don't know.

They don't know that everything they want already exists and always has. That new amazing things are being made by human hands and minds every moment of everyday.

They just don't know.

So instead...you get this twat asking a robot to tell them what kind of music...

...because they don't know any better.

People only know what they are taught. What they've seen. You can't even know to think for yourself and look if you've been trained not too your whole life.

So along comes broAI and it SEEMS like this unprecedented Magic Lamp to these people.

...

...been shouted at them to buy everyday of their lives everytime they turn on tv, a computer, the radio, etc, and are drowned by ads.

But that human need and desire for the new, the different, that good art shit? It exists inside them the same as any deep cut art snob. It's just atrophied...

...it that isn't GoT related is a revelation to them. "New music?" MADNESS!!!

It's facet of both discoverability of art and, as always, the commercialization of it. Companies only want to keep selling you Big Macs because they know they sell, so that's all some folks know because it's what's...

...then perhaps for the first time ever there are these people who are being told "Anything you can imagine can exist" and to them that's wildly exciting and engaging a prospect because, indeed, they have in fact only ever eaten at McDonalds. The thought that you can tell a story with swords in...

It makes me wonder if this is tied to the way people latch on the the broAI shit.

We're in a society of people who never think for themselves, never dig and explore and discover all the amazing and weird and different things that humans make everyday.

But since "ai" HAS breached the mainstream...
