And the Supreme Court just greenlit more of this
Here’s a story that’s becoming all too common: federal immigration agents using racial and ethnic profiling as a rationale for stopping, questioning and detaining U.S. citizens who they suspect are undocumented.

This interview, which is also available to listen to as a podcast, provides a useful overview of some of the dangerous trends we’ve been seeing in recent months regarding federalization and militarization of state and local police functions.

In undergrad, a professor once told me that you had to use a period before every coordinating conjunction.

You don’t.
But I still think about it sometimes.

very easy to see what is happening. trump will run for a third term, he’ll try to bring the dispute to federal courts, where his election denying judges will rewrite the 22nd amendment to mean it only refers to “consecutive” terms.
This is becoming the standard line for Trump judicial nominees: All of them will say only that Congress "certified" the election, which translates from Polite Republican Lawyer as "Trump should have been reelected and only lost because of Democrat voter fraud" ballsandstrikes.org/nominations/...
Senate Democrats Are Letting Trump’s Judicial Nominees Off the Hook
Trump's nominees gave some eye-popping answers in their written questionnaires. Why didn't Senate Democrats ask these questions in person?

"Democrats have a curiosity problem, and it's losing us elections"

Love this line from a NYT editorial on @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's victory. It resonates with Ted Lasso's advice to "Be curious, not judgemental"

For better or worse, Dems are seen as judgemental & that needs to change

Possible bottom line: The MOP strikes were performative for Trump, and this “retaliation” is performative for Khamenei. Which may actually be the best result for the planet.

In his latest pod, Ross Douthat’s guest Matthew Continetti stated as fact that legalizing illegal immigrants was “crucial” for Dems strategy…

And Douthat let it go completely unchallenged. Good to know the NYT is good with platforming the Great Replacement Theorists
