Ok, but which way?

The newsroom has been run by tories for a few years.

The BBC regularly platforms climate skeptics and anti science activists on equal parity with experts and data.

Question Time/BBC News gives disproportionate time to Reform and not to parties that have more MPs

Etc etc

Yes, the panorama edit was dumb, but it was (1) well after the fact and (2) doesn’t negate the fact that Trump and his cronies explicitly formented a traitorous insurrection against the US Capitol to try and overthrow a democratic election. As determined by congress.

Confected Telegraph fury
If you want to sustain your carefully-cultivated fury at the stupid Panorama edit then don’t, whatever you do, read or listen to Trump’s speech in its entirety…

@zachhensel.bsky.social has revisited Bruttel et al’s preprint and shows why the analysis of RE sites in SARS2 was deeply flawed. Spoiler: the sites are natural, the pattern explicable by recombination & the authors stacked the deck omitting some seqs and duplicating others.

Great interview by @lewisgoodall.com with Neil Kinnock. As an 80’s child I remember that speech. I remember the ridicule that Kinnock was exposed to. But Lewis hit the nail on the head - agree with him or not, he would have been our nicest PM, and the best speaker

The relentless Jessica McDonald has spent two weeks and hundreds of emails to fact check claims about the safety of #CovidVaccination in #pregnancy made at the #ACIP meeting.

She couldn't have been any quicker.

A lie can get around the world before the truth can get its shoes on.
A substantial body of evidence supports the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines during pregnancy, contrary to the suggestions of some members of the CDC’s vaccine advisory committee. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently reconstituted the committee.

But first and foremost Jane Goodall was a scientist whose years of careful study of Chimp behavior revealed amazing understanding both of them and insight into our own evolution
