Many now believe that A.I. will render labor obsolete, addressing demographic collapse in labor-poor countries as deus-ex-machina.

In the paper I estimate the (vast) productivity growth rates required: an order of magnitude greater. Not impossible, but not a plan.

Again I say: how fucking interesting that remote work technology is bad and not worth adopting despite all research pointing to productivity gains, but genAI which offers NOTHING is so important to adopt and force on people who have no use for it despite all the horrible things genAI does

I really don’t believe that the quality actually dropped, but it was the connectivity that really fascinated people, and nobody seems to want to admit that that was so much of the selling point. (4/4)

After Endgame the Marvel teams producing the films had every reason to go in the opposite direction of the source material, which more aligns with the pre-MCU movies than those that came after. (3/4)

Perlmutter was/is a monster, and obviously success has many parents, but I still think not enough credit is given to the fact that you had comic book professionals working as part of the process from Iron Man through Civil War (1/4)
