Dutch Railways ns.nl has a ticket that you buy up to a day ahead, at a discount, and you have a six hour window to complete the journey. No stress about catching exactly the right train. Brilliant.

On Sunday I found this roadkilled greenfinch (?). Moved it to the side of the road, where it'll be taken by predators rather than smashed around car tyres.
This morning a greenfinch appeared on my feeder, FIRST TIME EVER.
