Throwing trans people under the bus is not a winning campaign strategy.

There are many great explainers on the diagnostic changes that have led to a shift in population estimates, but this article isn’t it. This over and again subtly reinforces that there is an urgent issue the administration wants to address, and totally elides the clear eugenicist worldview behind it.

As long as the loudest folks on the left insist tone-policing, compromise on human rights, and acquiescence are our only options for a unified country, they will continue to lose the faith of the marginalized. And even when they win, they’ll just be waiting to lose the same way again.

You can still buy all their work. Being a rude, abrasive loudmouth while trans is the only unforgivable sin to these people.

But ultimately form makes no difference if there is no culture of constitutionalism. If the gatekeepers surrender and the checks and balances are unused, it is game over.
