The bit where he's in the subway at the top of the escalator and the werewolf walks into scene at the bottom. That's stayed with me forever, I always think of it when looking down stairs. If Lloyd is following me from the kitchen it still freaks me out 😂

Ox Whim from 1860. Amazingly this is just by the side of the road and not in a museum. #Cornwall

The device was named a "Ground Zero Indicator" and you can see it open in this other photo. It's amazing to think that so much of these Royal Observer Corps stations relied on quite basic technology. Also that they were staffed 100% by dedicated volunteers.

This device detects the direction of a blast, it had four pieces of photographic paper in it corresponding with NESW. A blast would leave an image on one of the papers. To be able to report this to command one of the 3 staff had to go up and get it! #Cornwall

Fun fact if a nuclear weapon detonates above ground there is hardly any fall-out generated. 🎉🥳

The sand dunes and power lines on the Hayle coastline provide lots of photo opportunities.

Cornwall has more than it's fair share of boats being reclaimed by the sea.

Some photos from my camera. I've not got access to Lightroom so am using the presets on Snapseed. Probably a bit over the top processing wise! #Fujifilm #X-T3 #35mm #Cornwall #Fistral

Quick walk round Newquay last night ended up as beer and nachos at the Great Western Surf Cafe on Great Western beach. Deb continues her quest for the worst cocktails in Cornwall with a poor Pina Colada! The beaches are packed even at 4:30pm.

Did Pelynt and the West Looe Valley walk last Sunday from the iWalk Cornwall app. #Cornwall

Biked from St Columb to Bedruthan Steps car park yesterday to check out the storm waves. Also went to Newquay later on to take some photos. #Cornwall

Anyone for a gentle dip in the sea on Tuesday?
August 24, 2025 at 7:35 AM
The first 1/2 isn't that bad and is through a shaded path. It's part 3/4 that is the worst bit (v-steep) and the final part seems like you'd not enjoy it as there is a sheer very high drop down to the sea. I'm surprised the National Trust haven't closed that bit to be honest!

Did the Duckpool to Woodford walk on iwalk Cornwall.
