Turns out if you go to the Saatchi on a Thursday afternoon in November, you can pretty much get it all to yourself.

In a queue to join another queue, what an exciting morning.

Also, this goes a long way to explaining why I like it there so much.

Last full day in Norway, and Oslo's looking pretty glorious. (Obligatory shot of the angry man fighting babies, because how could I not).

I have travelled far and I don't regret a single moment. (Except the 3 minute change for the train back to Bergen.)

Today was a long and excellent one of seeing ALL THE THINGS. Norway, bloody hell.

Norway - pretty awesome.

(And not hot! Ideal August destination.)

Watching that in a field in Suffolk one of my top moments in life. (Forgive me, it was very exciting)

Tonia Antoniazza is a hero.

Should add that I went to the Tate to see the extraordinary Aids Memorial Quilt - walking around it amongst a quiet, respectful, emotional crowd was incredibly moving.

Have had a lovely long weekend in Lille - one final art thing this morning, then back this evening. Was checking out the waiting space at Lille Europe on the excellent Man in Seat 61 website and saw this. Doesn't dampen my "just build things!" philosophy....

Woop woop!!

Visited the Courtauld for the first time yesterday. The Impressionist bit is something else (Manet!!) plus I discovered that I have a lot of time for Reubens. Despite the total lack of women in either art or captions, did appreciate this rare shout-out to the importance of ops.

Couldn't resist the call of the river on a beautiful, blowy, spring day. Isn't London grand?

After a bit of a sluggish winter, thanks to illness and busy-ness, lovely to get out in the sun today with @katkni.bsky.social for a walk from Borough to Wapping. Here are the only two pictures I took of an excellent afternoon. Inexplicable.

Friends fear she's at the Tate Modern again.

My current big pile of reading. I don't think a set of books has ever been so representative of my brain.

...why these artists together? Why compare mechanical machines from the 60s with 90s computer programming, without really explaining the link? Still, lots of pieces to ooh and ash at, and some migraine inducing wallpaper, if that's your sort of thing. 3.5 subtly moving LEDs out of 5.

My yearly dose of Pina Bausch at Sadler's Wells for Vollmond. Glorious, thrilling, joyful, with that undercurrent of uncomfortable sexual violence that inhabits all of Bausch's work. The men and women are all nuanced and gorgeous and terrible. Get a ticket. 5 big rocks out of 5.

I'm pretty much always with Chidi (and T.M. Scanlon) on this sort of stuff.

Fascinating article. I think Lara and I would get on...

Not so sure that flakiness is so new though, but do appreciate the phrase "fetishisation of introversion".

Belated Christmas celebrations with friends (Epiphany can be celebrated, ok), so I've only gone and made a charcuterie board. Only 2 years after the trend....

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year everyone! We played a game where we're cats! I'm not sure why!
