Also, there were some other things I was told that were just too much to go into for the scope for a spacedotcom story, such as that UKSA was mostly staffed by professional civil servants with little actual knowledge of space and that all the experts that used to form the BNSC didn't joy UKSA....

I don't take it as a criticism. I am fine with feedback. It's always useful from intelligent well-meaning people. My opinion is that ESA should be accountable to member states and not a puppeteer pulling the strings. It appears to me that that's what the Uk government wasn't happy about.

What questions would you like to have answered?

I find it highly problematic that the taxpayer-funded ESA, which should serve the European industry, is enticing member states to buy US space flights at a time when the geopolitical situation painfully exposes the gaps and deficiencies in European strategic space infrastructure.
