Definitely don't miss the fernery then. The Te Rewarewa bridge is a nice photo opportunity if the mountain is showing. Two other fab free gardens to visit are Tupare and Pukeiti. Some nice cafes down at the Port if you're down that way. Bach on breakwater has good range of food.

It is a pretty good summation of what some of the far flung regions are facing and the despair of the very dedicated IT teams in these more isolated areas. In a natural disaster, these regions' medical systems would be toast.
