I think it'd be a great starter microscope for a kid (sturdy, doesn't require slide preparation), especially if they like gross things. I recommend looking at: your taste buds, the sole of your foot, a pimple or ingrown hair if you have one, and up your nose.

What amazed me the first time I went down this rabbit hole is that someone could go to volunteer for the white supremacist army in Rhodesia and then just come back into American society and be accepted as a regular person??
