Had a little comic book store, organized geek cons, ran TTRPGs for my amigas, interested in video game history. Literature teacher getting into video editing as a job 😊👍
I'm curious to survey my friends that played it or something cause I didn't have issues with it and I just assumed my fellow ESLs didn't either (due to our problem usually being we can't speak English very well but we are so used to reading it and hearing it everywhere).

Amazing stuff! Btw I often see that sites like IGDB, Backloggd, Gamedle, Mobygames, etc have lower quality pics of the game covers for some of these older games. If during your process you also kept a version of these but without removing the game title logo, I wonder if they'd love to use it

But I couldn't find an official vertical version of the new art (the Steam image is horizontal). Does one exist?

Hey! Was happy to guess Roottrees in a cover-guessing browser game, but I noticed they used a cover with the old art. Same one Backloggd uses: backloggd.com/games/the-ro... I could update IGDB so that all the sites that pull from there update the image to one that reflects the current game artstyle

This is my default assumption for most JRPGs, much as the genre holds a space in my heart

I actually like when games do this. Lots of disparate dialogue options that don't affect much or anything at all mechanically but let me slowly construct a personality/set of beliefs for this character i'm roleplaying

I know this is jest but out of curiosity, is there yet an official name for the series? Strange ... ?

basically we see English' private and public companies both as different types of private companies. And we use "empresa pública" (lit. "public company") to refer to State-owned enterprises
September 26, 2025 at 10:02 PM
But it's because we're talking about different things: what English-speakers call a "public company" we call an "empresa de capital abierto" or "empresa cotizada en bolsa". For us that's just a "privately-owned" company but where the ownership (or a % of it) can be acquired through shares;

I always found it funny how the connotation is the opposite in Spanish. With private companies often associated with a dismantling of anything that won't give max profits or with rampant anticonsumerism. While public is (sometimes) related to robust if slow, accessible, common-good institutions

I wonder if it's one of those hidden sequels like The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. If so I hope they reveal that during the next big trailer instead of letting it ride silently because to this day I find people that haven't played UD thinking it's just an enhanced edition or DLC or something

YT shorts about character designs/combat animations across Fire Emblem games?

Artis Impact from Malaysia has a similar story, right? I recently finished it, has a lot of style

Besides game magazines of course, which as a kid/teen that never owned a console were also portals to possible worlds where you could fill the blanks

This can also happen with TTRPG manuals and wikis I think! It happened to me with a full Kingdom Hearts wiki as a kid (hadn't played anything KH) and the WoW TTRPG book as a teen (had only played base WoW for a couple of months years before and was in the middle of a long drought of playing TTRPGs)

Same thing!

If you don't mind the question, how story-focused is it? It's just blurbs of narrative/writing here and there or is there full fleshed story and a significant amount of time devoted to it?

made an exception with it. One reason I remembered to watch your vid was because my YT Home screen kept relentlessly recommmending it for that whole month. It felt like a rare instance of that algo doing right by me.

If it helps as info: I did avoid it for like a month until I completed the game. I rarely care about spoilers and sometimes I'll watch spoilery vids on purpose before deciding if I want to experience a work of media. But everyone spoke so highly about the story of this game that I
