This actually makes for a pretty decent way to rotate through a roster. And it prevents people from getting overly-attached to their characters. It might be something fun for some players, but most definitely wouldn’t enjoy it.

Giving players agency like this really gives the game an open feel where things don’t feel aren’t stale, rigid and predictable. Shaking things up a bit to keep it interesting.

I somewhat get this because I have been at tables where it feels clunky and like there is a lot of down time or waiting. A lot of people wanted different things out of it, combat bogged down the pace and and it's awkward when you have different levels of commitment on roleplaying.

One thing I would suggest asking the DM is if they would be open to running one-shots or like short adventures on occasionally to give himself a bit of time to plan for the main campaign and get the opportunity to try different things out. It's a shame to throw everyone's efforts out like that.

This actually makes a whole lot of sense. It also makes dealing with height/altitude a fair amount easier, and it could potentially have a sandbox mode to make maps as well. Turn-based combat, free-roam investigation.

Oh dang, those are some really sweet looking dice. A set of 7?

This is is similar to how I use lists and follows. There are plenty of times where I see accounts that have content that I find interesting but which I don’t want to actively interact with or have it inflate my feed. Lists make it lot easier to have a separate space for interests.

A character with no conflict can definitely feel plain and tricky to work with, but the conflict can be current as well. Struggling with being homesick, having an important item stolen from the or a goal that opposes the beliefs of a fellow party member.

Unless it is graphic I don't think it's really necessary. Even utilizing combat rules written out there are still ways to for fights to be less aggressive.

I know the feel of having a character that really resonates and is fun to play. I actually have an OC that I started using for solo TTRPG's just to continue their story and try out a few new ideas.

That honestly looks like numbers you would see for a BBEG or nobility. A play-by-play history, family tree, dating profile and ledger for their inventory. The whole nine yards.

Some of the pieces look like something you would see on a tapestry or stained glass. Strong line art, bold and vivid coloring. But what really got me is the details in the outfits and accessories are just wicked awesome!

A lot of humanoid creatures that are typically anthropomorphic (like Kobolds, Slaads, Yuan-ti and Gnolls) had rulings in 3.5e on how to use them as playable characters. I think those resources just needs more visibility for people who want to play furries.

This is one of those things that is tricky just because so many people expect different things out of it. The right person running the game should be able to accommodate for most at their table though.

Now that you mention it combat is probably the bigger part of the content on D&D. It makes sense since it evolved from Chainmail (a tactical wargame) and other components like the high fantasy settings and extensive magic system were likely built on top of it. D&D seems to get more broad over time.

Ohh, these are actually really neat, particularly the monk and sorcerer. I guess changing the background makes it less uniform. Would you want to use the new background for the next 5?

If you can come up with lore or an explanation on the change then that should suffice. If you are the DM take a session to play out what caused the change. If you are a player then discuss ways to bring it into the table.

Just because the theme is nautical doesn't necessarily mean the characters have to be pirates. You got merchants, smugglers and aristocrats who travel for business, soldiers that are deploying abroad, or adventures that really just need a change of scenery. Other options exist for your players.

I actually like the concept of the spell, definitely fair way to have a defensively aura around a wizard or sorcerer. It doesn't have a duration here but I can imagine working well with a 1 minute duration. I think being 10th-level does seem a bit high though.
